In early 2019, a leading global shipping line contacted UT Technologies for details on our centrifuge products. In a meeting at their office our project team leader explained about the advantages of our products, as they were facing issues with their lube oil for a 2 stroke propulsion diesel engine. Their filtration system required them to change the filter element frequently, with high manpower costs and disposal issues.
The centrifugal lube oil filter is a standard fitting in all their vessel's diesel generator engines and they knew the advantages of the product, which only requires the replacement of the paper insert which traps all the sludge and carbon deposits, allowing the start of the filter in only a few minutes.
Knowing their pain point and problems, we offered a free trial of our filters on one of their vessels, as a pilot project. Initially we had challenges and running the system was not smooth, but after troubleshooting the issues, trial and testing the oil quality in a lube oil laboratory, the client confirmed the massive benefits of our filtering solution and made a bulk order for 20 vessels.
